The Starry Night after van Gogh

The Starry Night is a painting by Vincent van Gogh that depicts the view outside his sanitarium room window at night. It was painted from memory and is considered the artist's magnum opus.

This idea for the piece came to me in a long dream. I looked outside and imagined The Starry Night as strands of drapery framed by my bedroom window. I set off knitting baby yarn befitting colours in his landscape. I hung each snake off drapery hardware. My belly grew. We moved to the hospital. I made two baby hats. They became bells for the snakes that float like man o' wars.
